A perfect beginners yoga class that will present a mindful sequence that is a combination of seated movements, hands and knees and lying on the back.
I created this Vinyasa Sequence to both heat the body up and engage the mind by offering challenges along the way. Everything can be modified (this is the great thing about yoga) so remember to do what you want and skip the rest. This sequence includes hip openers. arm balances, twists and lunges.
This class offers some strengthening poses like side plank, humbled warrior and balancing poses including flying pigeon and standing hand to toe pose. Additionally, Melissa walks you through a short twisting sequence that will assist in compressing the inner organs to release toxins from the body. Grab your yoga mat and make a little room in your day for deep breaths, conscious movement and a closer connection with your body! -Namaste
Join Melissa for a 25-minute Vinyasa Class on her back porch! Grab your yoga mat and an phone or ipad and play this video outside as well to enjoy the benefits of being in nature and doing yoga at the same time. This sequence includes hip openers such as side angle and shoulder strengtheners such as side plank (with several variations). Join Melissa for a Beginners approach to a vinyasa yoga class! This almost 25-minute yoga class includes stress reducing, energizing and strengthening movements combined with the breath. We warm up in a seated pose with a few neck rolls to release the initial stress and tension and then move into increased movements. This class includes energizes heart openers such as puppy pose, sphinx pose and bridge pose combined with strengthening and hip openers such as Warrior 2, Goddess (high squat) and Triangle. Mixed in behind the yoga class includes some fun and energetic tunes to move along with. Grab your mat and find some grass to play this video on your phone or ipad while you join along. A perfect practice for Beginners.
Join Melissa for an intermediate level vinyasa class that will work on standing balancing postures such as Warrior 3 and Half-Moon Pose. We will go through several rounds of Sun Salutations to warm up the body and then proceed into balancing postures. Moving with the breath, we will explore intentional placement of our body with a deeper awareness of our actions and effort. This class will take you on a journey of wobbling and accessing a part of yourself that is only available while standing on one leg!
